Lunasa, 24 Years On The Road

One of Irish music’s most popular groups, Lunasa, continues to tear it up in their concert appearances as they enter their twenty-fourth year on the road. Our Bill & Imelda were at a recent concert at Chicago’s famous Old Town School of Folk Music. Actually, there were two concerts Saturday night, and both were filled. Imelda reports, “We go see them every time they’re in town. They continue to be incredible musically, as well as presenting a fantastic show. They’re the best!” Here’s a video of the group performing one of Imelda’s favorites. This vid includes fiddler Sean Smyth, who has been with Lunasa for years, but now confines much of his playing with the group to Europe. The picture shows LiveIreland Male Musician of the Year, Colin Farrell, who now is with the group for the North American gigs. Chicago loves them, as does the rest of the Irish music world.
