The Executive Director of Milwaukee Irish Fest, the world’s largest Irish culture festival, visited Ennis this week to meet Clare Tourism representatives ahead of this year’s festival and as part of the promotion of Ennis as the host location for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in 2016 and 2017.

Patrick Boyle met with Clare Tourism Representatives, including Clare County Council, the Ennis Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Committee and Shannon Group.
The Milwaukee Irish Fest, established in 1981 by members of Milwaukee’s Irish community, covers 74 acres of Lake Michigan’s shoreline and showcases Irish music, history, dance, drama, sports and culture. The Festival, which runs every August, is also used by tourist agencies such as Fáilte Ireland and CIE Tours as an opportunity to market Ireland as a desirable tourist destination.

For over 10 years, Clare Tourism has been traveling to the United States to showcase Ireland’s Banner County to an estimated 150,000 festival goers.
