Breakfast at Rachel’s Cafe in Trim
The Irish tourism board’s “Ireland Ancient East” meme is having the same exponential effect on Tourism as the wild atlantic way. Visits to most of the main attractions in the east of the country are up year on year since it’s inception in 2015. We took a trip to trim castle in Co Meath yesterday to resample the tour of the castle itself which we missed out on last time. To kill two birds with the one stone let’s get our usual “Irish Breakfast watch” out of the way first. Rachels Cafe in Trim scores 9 out of ten for both quantity and quality on their full Irish fry up. The staff friendliness is exceptional with offers of more top up tea or coffee to booth. After a late breakfast we had more than enough energy to sample the grounds and surrounding areas of the 12th Century Norman castle complex. Here’s some sample pics of our visit.
