Bunrraty Castle
Bunratty, The village whose name means "The mouth of the River Raite" is commanded by a castle, once the seat of the O'Brien's, Earls of Thomand. The 15th century castle stands on what once was an island surrounded by marshes, but these have been since drained and turned into farmland.
